Depois de dias em Salvador,
Depois de dias em Salvador, onde meu cérebro deu tilts sucessivos (por isso digo que ver mar demais faz mal), pensava em dizer um oi cercado de amenidades por todos os lados, mas um trecho de Auto engano (do Eduardo Gianetti) que eu vim lendo entre sacolejos do ônibus, me forçaram a optar por um tema mais espinhoso.
O tal trecho hablava o seguinte: "Com o avanço do conhecimento, alarga-se o desconhecido. 'Com o saber cresce a dúvida'. Qualquer que seja o objeto do conhecimento - uma floresta ou uma indústria, um texto clássico ou um neurotransmissor -, uma coisa é certa. Por mais que se conheça, sempre será possível conhecer mais." E seguia por aí.
Lembrei das paradoxais palavras do cara que a Bíblia afirma ser quem mais "conheceu" em todos os tempos, o rei Salomão, que, não lembro se nos Provérbios ou no Eclesiastes, diz que "quem aumenta seu conhecimento aumenta sua tristeza".
Talvez seja por isso. O desconhecido é infinito e andar na direção do infinito é sempre entristecedor. Lembro do tempo em que treinava remo na USP e o treinador nos obrigava a correr em volta da raia olímpica. Preferíamos mil vezes correr duas vezes aquela distância pelo campus da universidade do que correr na raia, porque ali não se enxergava o fim das retas e parecia que não saíamos do lugar.
Por outro lado, parar é retroceder, quando se tem um infinito a palmilhar. A aparente ausência de tristeza da estática não é alternativa, é um sedativo.
Torno à Bíblia para citar o profeta Oséias, quando diz "conheçamos nosso Deus, prossigamos em conhecê-lO". Ou seja, não se contente em achar que conhece o suficiente. Especialmente daquilo que transcende. Prosseguir é um imperativo, por mais que a ausência de um porto no horizonte deprima.
Daí porque não abro mão da fé. Eu não vejo o porto, mas acredito que ele exista (um porto satisfatório). Sem a crença não há norte.

Eclesiastes 1:18 "Porque na MUITA sabedoria há muito enfado; e quem aumenta ciência aumenta tristeza." Porém, a palavra de Deus nos diz: "Provérbios 3:13 Feliz o homem que acha sabedoria, e o homem que adquire conhecimento." Creio que a sabedoria adquirida e não usada, de nada adianta. Temos que pôr em prática aquilo que aprendemos (coisas boas, claro) senão o conhecimento se tornará sem valor.
